Do I Have to Leave My Home While You Build My Extension?
No, you will not have to vacate your home while we are building.
Can I Remove a Tree for My Extension?
Often trees can be removed however you may need a tree preservation order before the tree is altered or removed. If your tree is in a conservation order you may not be able to remove it. It is best to contact your local council if you want as tree removed.
What is a Contingency Budget?
Contingency budgets are always recommended whenever you are making any large-scale home improvements. This is you budgeting to have extra money if something goes wrong, or you want to make alterations to the development. A good contingency budget is often 10-20% of the total cost.
Should I Inform My Neighbours of My Extension?

How Close to My Boundary Can My Extension Be?
Under permitted development rights you can build up to 50mm of your neighbours’ boundary. In the design phase you should see that your extension does not intrude on their natural light, enclose their property, or be considered a loss of privacy.
Do I Need an Architect for My Extension?
Yes, an architect will be required to create the plans for your extension prior to planning submission. If you use the Edgehill Builders Ltd design & build service, these plans are completed for you by our architect.
How Long Do Extensions Take to Build?
A smaller single storey extension will take around 3-4 months to complete while multi-storey extensions can take more than 6 months.
Is Your Work Guaranteed?
Edgehill Builders Ltd will guarantee their work on extensions built by us. You will be informed of the duration of your guarantee prior to your booking. Any products used will also have a manufacturers warranty.
